Varsity signs deal with media firm

The Aga Khan University, Graduate School of Media and Communications (AKU-GSMC) and Deutsche Welle (DW) are set to partner in developing world class professional training programmes in East Africa.

The two institutions will today sign a Memorandum of Understanding to seal the deal at the AKU-GSMC campus in Westlands, Nairobi.

According to the Dean, Graduate School of Media and Communications Michael Meyer, the partnership brings together two leading institutions, Deutsche Welle Akademie (DWA) and AKU-GSMC, which are focused on building capacity and expertise in the media and communications sectors of East Africa.

Aga Khan University President Firoz Rasul and Deutsche Welle Director General Peter Limbourg will give key note remarks during the event.

AKU-GSMC is a leading media and communications institution in East Africa, focused on delivering globally competitive and locally relevant training for media and communications professionals.

And, Deutsche Welle Akademie (DWA) is the training division of Deutsche Welle (DW), a leading global news organisation.
