Barclays Bank of Kenya is seeking applications from fresh graduates for the Pan African Development Programme (PAGDP).
PAGDP is a one year programme that imparts participants with technical, financial and professional skills, bench-marked against international best practices. The selected candidates will also have the opportunity to interact and work with colleagues from across the continent.
While speaking about the programme, the Director of Human Resources, Barclays Bank of Kenya, Ms. Geneva Musau said that it has been developed to impart graduate trainees with the skills required to make them more competitive in the job market at home and abroad.
“The programme nurtures talent within the global financial institution. Its design allows beneficiaries to be exposed to both on-the-job learning and behavioural competencies that are delivered through a number of summits during the course of the year,” noted Ms. Musau.
Since it began in 2012, about 31 Kenyan candidates have successfully undergone the training. In fact Kenya produced the top candidate in 2001.
Jason Davies, Head of Leadership, Learning and Talent at Barclays Africa says, “Youth are the lifeblood of our economies in Africa. As an organisation that supports the development of young talent, Barclays Africa is striving to ensure that we play our part in developing future leaders who are able to operate globally and Pan-Africa.”
The PAGDP operates in Kenya, Botswana, Egypt, Ghana, Mauritius, Mozambique, the Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. This model brings new ideas and motivation to candidates who define where their ambitions lie within the dynamic global organisation, reinforcing the bank’s vision of becoming the ‘Go-To’ Bank in career excellence.
For this year’s selection, applicants are encouraged to apply via the Barclays Website. The applications are open from the 1st of August 2014 and close on 15th September 2104
